BP Oil Spill
The first one is the Rachel Maddow reporter's news. She talks about the oil spoiling and it spread all over Gulf of Mexico. It was caused by the BP company. The company spreads a lot of oil all over Gulf of Mexico that gives the animals hard time. 30 years before, they are really bad at preventing of pollution to Gulf of Mexico. The spread of oil affects the whole ecosystem and it harms people a lot. How does it affect people? First of all, a lot of people eat fishes, and if the fishes eat the food that contains those bad oil inside then for sure they will turn unhealthy and if we eat those unclean fishes and shrimps and stuff in the ocean, it can harm us a lot. Also, it can make some kinds of rare birds extinct. How? There is an experiment that scientist put the feather into a bowl of water with a lot and a lot of oil inside. And what happens to the feather is that it turned into a black, messed up ball of "mud". And it turned so heavy that if a bird has a body filled with these find of "feather", they will not be able to fly. A lot of birds can swim, and they swim for catching the fishes, so if they unfortunately get into water that is full of oil, then they will not be able to fly out and if more and more birds do that then they will extinct.
How do we solve it?
We can put the containers that can hold the oil inside it and never come out. And we put all those containers inside ships to hold the oil. Also, we can put some machines or pipes under sea and that can suck the oil inside and we can maybe recycle those oil. Maybe those machines can suck oil back to land. http://img.bmlink.com/big/trade/20075/07052211143946.jpg

Citizneship- Shop Til you Drop Activity
How did it feel to have more or less money than other people in the class?
It feels really bad to have less money than people in the class. I am under control of everything that is related to money.
How did it feel to see what you could and could not afford at the Global Mall?
It feels really bad. I can't do anything or buy anything i want.
• How many of you could not afford education? What would your lives be like if you could not go to school?
Three people can not go to school. It feels sad if you could not go to school because then you won't get any right education and so you can't speak anything or do anything through your "right" mind.
• How would it feel to have to choose between food and health care?
I think i would choose food, because you won't have good health if you don't eat any food.
• How many of you have ever been very sick or gone to a hospital or had friends and family who have? What would your life be like now if you had been unable to get medical care? You will think of one question " who cares me? " when you think of this question, you don't really stay a live...... when you have someone that can care about you when you are in hospital, that feels "much" more better than nothing.
• What were the impacts caused by people with fewer Global Mall Dollars, and what were the impacts caused by people with more Global Mall Dollars?
The impact to people with fewer dollars is that you can not buy anything even you really want to buy that thing. If you have more money, then of course you will have to work much more harder than other people. Not only this, rich people is going to buy more things and it is going to product "a lot" more than people who don't eat meat or buy less things.

Eve Ensler
1. Synopsis: what is this interview about?
This interview is talking stuff of girl's right. At first it is talking about how do man treat girls and domestic violence. After that, it talks about why don't girls got rights and how don't they got rights.
2. How is Eve Ensler being a global citizen? What is she doing to make a difference in the world (give examples)?
When she was young, she got domestic violence from her parents. After she grew up, she tell people that it is wrong and tell people the right thing. Give examples? : She made a lot of books and sell it. All of the books are talking about girl's right, domestic violence stuff. She even tell people to go on street and shout out about girl's right. So, these are why she can be the global citizen.
3. Give one example of how girls can end up in harmful situations because of societal pressures "to please" others. Because people don't give girls enough food and just keep forcing them to do works, so women just go and please for food and just get harmful reply.
2. What do you think are the connections between The Story of Stuff and Eve Ensler's story about the girl in the factory making Barbie doll heads? There are connections because there are all talking about making stuff. The poor girl just keep making those barbies and sell them to west. How many products does the girl has to make depends on how many do consumer buy. So, it is related to the factories. Consumer keep buying......factories keep making and at the last it all become trash.

It was a 7 MW earthquake. The earthquake caused major damage to Port-au-Prince, Jacmel and other settlements in the region. It was occured in 4:53:10. This earthquake cause a big damage because the buildings and the roads there are not stable. So, when the earthquake comes, the ground just flip up and the buildings just lie down on people that are inside. After the earthquake, the polices and the hospital quickly go to everywhere and then try to save anything such as people or animals they found. Other country send food and tell people to give the cloths that you will never use it. Since people don't have home anymore right now, they live in refuge.

Kiribati
Dear Mr.Bernard Murdoch,
Thank you for giving your fantastic presentation today. After your presentation, I now realized about how global warming is getting bad and bad every year, how the sea level change and how the climate change in different country. I can hardly understand how you feel of giving this presentation, looks like you are always smiling in the presentation, but I know that you actually feel really sad of giving a presentation about your home and your country is going to be an "underwater city". Kiribati is really a small long country with water surround it, but I have a question in my mind after listen to your presentation. Since there are 10000 people in your country, why don't other countries help your country to move to other country? And that is not a big deal because there are only 10000 people. Global warming is a big problem obviously, if we want to save our country and save our earth and make people not to harm of scared of global warming, then we have to do something. If I am the government of my country, I would think of a way to make people not to keep overuse the efficient things that produce a lot of carbon dioxide, but I can't just stop the citizen of using air conditioner because they need them. So, to solve this problem, I may use the tax that citizen pay us to buy a lot of "efficient things". After that, what I can do is that I will give a presentation about how the global warming has harmed our earth and the overuse power and over produce carbon dioxide. After that, I will tell all the citizen that if you bring your inefficient things from home, then you will get a new efficient thing. I think this is a good method because people always like new things, so this may attract a lot of people. I don't have the power to do all these things, but being a citizen, I can also give presentations and but inefficient things and not to throw trash on to the ground
